From October 7 to 10, Quiberon Bay hosts an ETF26 Series Grand Prix for the sixth time, the last stop of a season that has taken the fleet from Spain to Italy. No other venue has mattered as much in the history of the class: year after year, Quiberon remains the championship’s most loyal host, and this time it welcomes the grand finale.
On these flying catamarans, capable of exceeding 30 knots, crews of the highest level meet for one last duel. Nothing separates Blueshift Sailing Team, led by Charles Dorange, from Team Pro, skippered by Quiberon native Tim Mourniac: the two crews are perfectly level on points in the overall standings, separated for now only by their number of race wins. The 2026 champion will be decided on the water.
It is a title still up for grabs, because Quiberon is never a given. Last year, Entreprises du Morbihan (Matthieu Salomon, Franck Cammas, Valentin Bellet) won the Grand Prix right here. Its waters are familiar to every crew, and some have sailed them since childhood, but nobody has ever truly mastered them.
It is a fact Tim Mourniac has firmly in mind heading into this final round: “Team Pro is in great shape, we’re coming off a week with our sponsors, and now our minds are on this last event. We’re fired up, we want to win the final event at home.”
The same determination runs through Blueshift Sailing Team: “We’re ultra motivated for this last regatta, which puts a big full stop on this ETF season. We’re fired up, the boat is ready, and we feel strong both technically and mentally. We have to see it through to the end and go and get the win,” says Charles Dorange, skipper of Blueshift Sailing Team. “We’re really excited and can’t wait to see the other teams at the end of the week.”
Behind the leading duo, Entreprises du Morbihan holds third place overall, with Team Sport BAMS and Sansin Sailing Team completing the top five. Seven crews in total, from France and Canada, will battle for the last points of the season on machines that keep getting faster and more technical.
Between the suspense in the standings, the level of the crews and a stretch of water that can change everything in a few minutes, the show promises to live up to the stakes.
