All boats were ready and on the water by 2:30 PM, full of energy for the first races of the season. Unfortunately, the wind had other plans.
For two hours, the fleet waited patiently on the racecourse, but conditions never improved beyond 5 knots : not enough to start an official race.
To make the most of the time on the water, the race committee sent the teams out for training races. Slow, very slow, but still a great opportunity to shake off the winter rust, practice starts and maneuvers, and get back into racing mode.
At 4:30 PM, the race committee made the call to end the wait and send the boats back to the club.
No points on the board today, but the teams are ready. Weather models are looking slightly more promising for tomorrow : fingers crossed for some real breeze and proper racing!
