We chose to go there because we were looking to host a stage in the Mediterranean, which we haven’t done for several years, and COYCH is very professional in organizing high-level regattas, notably recently with the French Olympic Week, which was a great success.”
From a sporting perspective, recent events in Spain have shown that newcomer teams quickly establish themselves, notably the Danish teams of Rockwool 1 and Rockwool 2. Their impressive performances have set the stage for intense competition in Hyères.
Despite this the absence of the New Zealand team, Live Ocean Racing who have had logistical challenges prevented their attendance, teams are eager to reunite before heading to the Foiling Week.
